I feel like you're in my head sometimes. So accurate. I have been job searching for several months and got sucked into the "self-help" idea that I just wasn't hustling hard enough. Sure enough, I began to look into some of the people I had idolized, only to find out this "relatable" writer has parents well-established in the industry or at least parents with the money to fund their dreams. Moreover, it has made me seriously reflect on how many privileges I have and why I should be more transparent when writing and mentoring others. Authenticity seems to conveniently leave out privilege in its current state.
