I believe I read the same article, and I feel the same as well. I was also waiting for some sort of redemption or hint that it contained a degree of satire. They seemed to hate adding pronouns because they didn't understand the concept and also stated they wouldn't try to understand. You can never really help folks that wish to remain woefully ignorant, unfortunately. Despite adding a few extra characters, it harms no one and costs nothing. Empathy feels increasingly difficult to find.
